ADAMAWA POLICE ARRESTS 567 SUSPECTS IN SECOND QUARTER 2025-CP DANKOMBO

 

Second quarter scorecard- Police arrests 567 suspects between April and June 2025 in Adamawa

Adamawa Police Command, has given its scorecard of arrests for the second quarter of 2025.

A total of 567 suspects, were arrested for involvement in various crimes across the State in the period.

The State’s Commissioner of Police, CP Dankombo Morris, disclosed this, during a Press briefing, at the headquarters of the Command in Yola.

Abdurrahman Abdullahi Yakubu monitored it.

Addressing Journalists, CP Dankombo said the arrests were made through coordinated efforts by the Anti-Kidnapping Squad, Intelligence Units, Tactical Teams, and Divisional Police Officers, targeting crimes such as kidnapping, armed robbery, homicide, child trafficking, rape, and gang-related violence.

The Command, also rescued four kidnapped victims and thirteen trafficked children, following a landmark operation led by ACP Shuaibu Wara.

 

 “Adamawa state police command under my leadership has carried out various operations including sustained raiding of criminal hideouts that led to significant success. Also 4 kidnap victims and thirteen trafficked children were rescued”.

The children, who were trafficked from Adamawa to Anambra State, were recovered, and two women, Mrs. Ngozi Abdulwahab and Mrs. Uche Okoye, were identified as key suspects in the child trafficking syndicate.

Notable arrests include Zephaniah Alfred, a known armed robbery suspect, wanted for attacks along the Numan–Gombe road, and Tukur Adamu, a drug dealer who reportedly murdered a man over proceeds from Indian hemp sales.

Other suspects include seven Shilla gang members involved in house-to-house robberies and two men who robbed a Taraba State resident of his Honda Accord vehicle.

In terms of recoveries, the Command in the period under review, seized a large cache of weapons and stolen items.

The command made the following recoveries; six Ak47 rifles, three pump actions, eleven fabricated assault rifles recovered, three vehicles and five tricycles”. 

CP Moris, encouraged the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to law enforcement, stressing that security is a collective responsibility.
