PILGRIMAGE-MEDITATE AS YOU GO- FINTIRI TELLS PILGRIMS
As you go, use this pilgrimage to strengthen your personal faith, then pray for peace and Progress of Adamawa and Nigeria.
These are the words, the Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, wants the 2025 Christian Pilgrims who as set to depart Adamawa for Israel and Jordan, to meditate and be proper ambassadors, as they embark on the journey.
The Lutheran Church of Christ in Nigeria LCCN Saint Monica’s Cathedral Nassarawo, Jimeta-Yola, was venue of his farewell admonition.

The governor’s message was delivered by his Chief of Staff, Dr. Edgar Amos Sunday, during an orientation and farewell service for the 2025 Easter pilgrims at the LCCN Saint Monica Cathedral in Jimeta, Yola.
Governor Fintiri described the pilgrimage as a profound spiritual journey, rather than a tourist trip, urging the pilgrims, to conduct themselves, with discipline, be good ambassadors of Nigeria, obey all rules, and dedicate themselves to prayers for peace, unity, and development.
Earlier in his welcome, Chairman of the Adamawa State Christian Pilgrims Welfare Board, Bishop Theophilus Shadrach, described the pilgrimage as a sacred journey, that renews faith and strengthens commitment to Christ. He commended Governor Fintiri, for sponsoring the pilgrims and praised his leadership for being fair to all, regardless of religion, tribe, or ethnicity.
The guest speaker, Reverend Maxwell J. Kiri, Chairman of ECWA Gongola DCC, urged the pilgrims to use the experience to reflect, and seek God’s guidance, encouraging them to return as spiritually, renewed individuals and remain steadfast in their faith after the journey.
A total of 274 pilgrims from Adamawa, are scheduled for airlift to Israel and Jordan, the exercise is officially classified as the 2025 Easter Pilgrimage, holding now about 5 months after it was originally designated to hold.
