We are not campaigning for any particular political party or ethnicity, we are rather strategizing on giving Adamawa a collective voice of sustained development through the ethnic nationalities.

National Chair of the Gongola People’s forum GPF Engineer Markus Natina Gundiri, fired this salvo at the special sensitization for Local Governments in the greater Yola, on the move by the various forums, as organized by the GPF, the Adamawa United Forum AUF and other forums.

Chief Correspondent Ephraim Okpanachi monitored the proceedings at the Bekzee events center in Jimeta-Yola.

Politics is about numbers and for the Gongola Peoples forum GPF, the ethnic nationalities in Adamawa continue to reiterate that they have the numbers, hence they are putting their house in order ahead of the 2027 polls.

The GPF message is very clear, the current Governor Ahmadu Umaru, has shown that development is possible , with very high standards set, so anyone emerging to lead should fully understand the work is cut out.

National chair of the Gongola People’s Forum GPF Engineer Markus Gundiri, who spoke in Hausa, did not mince words, he asserts that they are not a political party, but are clearly championing a good cause.

He notes that the sensitization for Yola North, Yola South, Fufore and Girei local Governments was clearly about Adamawa and how the State should further develop,.

“We have not come for any tribe or religion or  political party, Whatever party you belong to, adjust yourself so that you can elect someone who truly deserves to be elected, be it a  senator , governor or member house of representatives”

The National Secretary of the GPF Barrister Leonard Nzadon, in his presentation stressed that politics is about numbers, which the GPF has, this numbers he says should be channeled to getting the right candidates to lead across all levels of representation and the forums would work towards getting candidates by consensus.

“Our over-arching goal is to bring all ethnic nationalities under a common platform, through which we can speak with a unified voice and pursue the most effective pathways to sustainable progress”

Stakeholders who attended from the 4 local governments in their hundreds were drawn from the Gongola peoples forum GPF, the Adamawa United Forum AUF, the Nigeria indigenous Languages Development Council NILDC, the  NFF and the 3KT
